2026: Girl Genius: Volume 22 and 23: Escape from the Island of the Rat Queen

February 16, 2026:

The campaign is live and has funded! We've been hitting a lot of nice stretch goals, and the Envelope of Madness is full of bookmarks, signed bookplates, stickers, two art cards and the perennial Transylvania Polygnostic University student ID. The PDF Pile is large. Back the campaign today!

A few of the art pages for people whose names were to be used in the comic still need to be shipped. I need to do another round of query emails to confirm mailing addresses for those last shipments, and will send them out directly when I hear back. But I have been trying!

Stretch Goals

The following stretch goals are still being worked on:

The printable PDF box cover: for volumes 1-12. (This is nearly done...it needs to be tested and I haven't had time to print and cut it out. I'm close, though.)
The Jager toast:
We've been researching the correct method for performing the Jäger Toast, and we will salute our backers in a short video presentation! (This is proving difficult. It turns out the Jägers can't agree on the traditional toast. There has been biting. Eventually the dust will settle, and we'll have something.)
The "How We Make a Comic" video:
An actual serious short film about making our comic, with a time-lapse page from start to finish. (This is still in the development stage, we have a lot of notes. Again, it turns out that filming a documentary takes a while.)
The graphic novel cover poster set:
The plan: create a set of posters for all the Girl Genius graphic novels (1-13 at the time) with digital copies available to backers. (Right after I finish the box PDF, I'll get to work on this again.)

I'm sorry about the fact that these are still out there, it's simply a case of having bitten off more than I could chew. I haven't forgotten about these projects, and I'm still working on them. I'll make announcements as I get them done. They're all things I'm excited about doing! Thank you--Kaja
